Central Adirondacks, NY
Arbutus Pond
The project study area in the central Adirondacks consists of Huntington Wildlife Forest, a 14,989 acre forest near Newcomb, New York managed by SUNY-ESF, and of nearby DEC-managed state forest land. The Adirondack Ecological Center is located at Huntington Forest. CFI plots in Huntington Forest are located near interesections of a 20-chain (400 meter) grid, while plots on state land are located on a 15 chain (300 meter) grid.
CFI Data Files
Huntington Forest
CFI data for Huntington Wildlife Forest is organized in a different format than other areas in the central Adirondacks. These plots are re-measured every ten years, but most located in 2000-2002. Some of the plots were located in 1998 by David Szymanski. For plot and tree files, the year refers to the year the plot data was collected, rather than when it was loctaed. Historical data is currently being processed for clarity.
